The Best Juicy Grilled Turkey Burgers for Your Holiday Cookout

Fire up the grill—it’s holiday weekend time! These juicy turkey burgers are packed with flavor, easy to prepare, and delicious enough to make the hamburgers a little jealous.

And if your current backyard barely has room for the grill, call Margarett Klein, your favorite Space Coast Realtor! I can help you find a home with the perfect backyard for cookouts, celebrations, and making memories with family and friends.

Juicy Grilled Turkey Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1½ pounds ground turkey, preferably 93% lean
  • â…“ cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • Your favorite cheese, optional
  • Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and your favorite condiments

Directions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, approximately 400°F. Clean and lightly oil the grates to help prevent sticking.
  2. In a large bowl, gently combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Do not overmix—the burgers are coming to the cookout, not auditioning for hockey-puck duty!
  3. Divide the mixture into six equal portions and gently form each into a patty. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to help it cook evenly.
  4. Brush both sides of the patties lightly with olive oil.
  5. Grill for approximately 5–7 minutes per side, flipping only once. Cook until the centers reach 165°F on a meat thermometer.
  6. If adding cheese, place it on the burgers during the final minute of cooking and close the grill lid.
  7. Toast the buns for 30–60 seconds, then build your burgers with all your favorite toppings.

Margarett’s Cookout Sauce

Mix together:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • A dash of smoked paprika

Spread it generously on your toasted buns for an easy sauce that makes these burgers even better!

Make Your Cookout Extra Delicious

Serve your turkey burgers with grilled corn, potato salad, baked beans, watermelon, or crispy sweet-potato fries. Set up a topping bar so everyone can create their own masterpiece—and you don’t have to remember who refuses onions!

A great cookout deserves a great backyard. If you’re dreaming of a home with a spacious patio, sparkling pool, outdoor kitchen, fenced yard, or enough room for the whole family, Margarett Klein, your favorite Space Coast Realtor, is ready to help.
